If you judge the success of an agency by the impact it has on society and its community, Singer Associates stands above the rest for its enormous impact on the future of the key issues facing California: transportation, politics, housing and healthcare, among others. Singer Associates is the Agency of Record and is spearheading the communications strategies for these significant projects:

TJPA Breaks Ground on Transbay Transit Center Program
A historic moment for California, Singer Associates planned and executed the Transbay Joint Powers Authority’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Transbay Transit Center Program on December 10, 2008. Planned to be the "Grand Central Station of the West," Singer Associates managed event coordination and media relations for the ceremony which featured Mayor Gavin Newsom, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Director of Transportation Will Kempton and the TJPA Board of Directors. More than 250 people were in attendance, including former Mayor Willie Brown and Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner. The event marked the commencement of the Transbay Program and served as the kick off for the construction of the Temporary Terminal, the first step in the program which will construct a temporary facility to serve bus passengers while the new landmark Transbay Transit Center is under construction.
San Francisco Education Fund Tipping for Teachers Celebrity Waiter Dinner
Singer Associates managed media relations to support the San Francisco Education Fund’s inaugural Tipping for Teachers Celebrity Waiter Dinner event at the historic Westin St. Francis Hotel. The exclusive fundraising event featured more than 40 of San Francisco’s CEOs and philanthropists including Warren Hellman, Head Celebrity Waiter; Michael Krasny and Juliette Goodrich, Masters of Ceremonies; multi-platinum artist MC Hammer; Larry Baer, Executive Vice President and COO, San Francisco Giants; Craig Newmark, Chairman, Craigslist; and Carlos Garcia, Superintendent, San Francisco Unified School District, who volunteered as celebrity waiters to serve a gourmet dinner to their friends and associates to raise money for San Francisco’s public schools.
Stanford Design Unveiling
Singer Associates continues to manage the communications and community outreach for the Stanford University Medical Center Renewal Project. Recently, Singer coordinated the event in downtown Palo Alto to unveil the design renderings of the new Stanford Hospital and expansion of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
"Recycling changes everything." Ad Campaign
Norcal Waste Systems asked Singer Associates to launch a communications and advertisement campaign to promote recycling and composting within San Francisco. The campaign uses a unique 3D process that creates the illusion that the viewer can actually “see” inside a collection truck. But there’s one section of the photograph that appears inside the outline of a recycling/compost cart – where the benefits of resource recovery are seen. The goal of the campaign is made clear by the headline on the side of the truck: "Recycling changes everything."
Tiger Incident at San Francisco Zoo
Singer Associates was retained following a fatal tiger attack at The San Francisco Zoo on December 25, 2007. Our firm managed media and public relations in the immediate aftermath of the incident and helped arrange a press conference at the reopening of the Zoo in early 2008. Singer Associates provided strategic support that helped maintain public confidence in The San Francisco Zoo and put details of the incident into the proper context.
Prop G Victory: Redevelopment of Candlestick Point and Hunters Point Shipyard
Singer Associates was involved in all aspects of media and public outreach and worked closely with Mayor Gavin Newsom’s office for Proposition G, the Bayview Jobs, Parks and Housing Measure, which was passed by San Francisco voters on June 3, 2008. The measure authorizes the revitalization of Bayview-Hunters Point, providing incentive for the environmental clean-up of Hunters Point Shipyard along with affordable housing, jobs and parks and open space. Proposition G also preserves an NFL stadium for The San Francisco 49ers.
Transbay Joint Powers Authority Awards New Contract to Singer Associates
Singer Associates was awarded a new contract with the TJPA to provide all communications and community outreach services for what will be the “Grand Central Station of the West.” The agency continues to promote the Transbay Transit Center Project as the solution to improving our regional transportation system, providing the Bay Area with ready access to world-class transit options while bringing new economic benefits that will fortify the region as the center of connectivity and commerce in the West.
Third Annual Great Compost Giveaway
Singer Associates continues to promote San Francisco’s Food Scrap Collection Program with Sunset Scavenger Company and Golden Gate Recycling & Disposal at its annual Great Compost Giveaway. Each year San Francisco’s local garbage and recycling companies give away 20 truck loads of FourCourse gourmet planting soil to encourage more people to use their green carts so our city can reach its 75 percent recycling goal.
AC Transit, Bus Rapid Transit and “ACT for me”
Singer Associates was hired by AC Transit to initiate and manage the “ACT for me” public outreach campaign to inform riders and the general public about the agency’s ongoing commitment to efficiency, environmental sustainability and innovation.
AC Transit, California’s third largest public bus system, has proposed an important new Bus Rapid Transit project for Berkeley, Oakland and San Leandro. The system will improve travel times along the route, increase passenger carrying capacity and reduce the number of cars clogging the road.
